Creating a Play Button for Media Player


This tutorial will show you how to make a Play button for media player.

Step 1

 

Create a new document with 420 pixels × 420 pixels. Activate the Smart Guides in View Menu (Ctrl+U). Draw a circle with 400 pixels width and 400 pixels height with the Ellipse Tool.

 




Step 2


Fill the circle with a linear gradient with colours.


Step 3


Select the circle and navigate to Object > Path > Offset to open the Offset Path dialog box. Change the Offset to -30 pixels and press OK.

 

 

 

 


Step 4


Fill the smaller circle with a linear gradient of Grayscale colour 20% to 5%. Set the angle to -90 degree.


Step 5

 

Select the Smaller Circle and move to Object > Path > Offset to open the Offset Path dialog box. Change the Offset to -20 pixels and click OK.


Step 6

 

Change the gradient angle to 90 degree of the smallest circle without changing the colour.


Step 7

 

Choose all circles and group them. With Star Tool, draw a triangle of 100 pixels width Radius 1 and 100 pixels Radius 2, Points – 3, press OK.

 


Step 8

 

Rotate the Triangle to -90 degree and click OK.

 


Step 9

 

Place the Triangle at the centre of the Circles. Choose the Triangle and with Eyedropper Tool click on the biggest circle having blue gradient. Change the gradient angle to 90 degree.


Step 10


Select the Triangle and navigate to Object > Path > Offset to open the Offset Path dialog box. Change the Offset to -10 pixels and click OK.


Step 11

 

Create a rectangle that intersects the triangle. Select the rectangle and triangle. Press the Subtract from Shape Areas button in the Pathfinder Panel.

 

 


Step 12


Fill the shape with linear gradient colours of white and black. Change the gradient angle to -90 degree. Change the transparency to Screen Mode.
